1. Where did the downloads go?
Videos are no longer available to be downloaded and saved to your computer due to copyright reasons with the music used in them.
You can still watch the videos streamed on demand at any time via the Google Video, YouTube, or Yahoo! Videos on this website.
More than 30 videos are available and I'll continue to add more as people send them in.
2. Who is Grouchy? Are you in the military?
I'm just a guy who likes making videos to support our troops even though I've never been in the service.
You can read more about me and this website on About GrouchyMedia
[page 1] & [page 2].
3. Can you mail me a CD or DVD with your videos?
I get this request a lot and unfortunately, I don't have the time. I also can't afford to absorb the cost myself
and don't want to get in copyright issues by charging for the service.
4. Can you make one dedicated to the Navy (or other specific department)?
I wish I could make one for every department in the service we have.
That would require access to material I don't have though so I'll just keep trying to include as many different departments
as I can using what people send in. Some of the other editors contributing to the site have made specific videos and you'll see
more of those soon.
5. How about a video for the Coast Guard, Police, Paramedics, and Firefighters?
I'd love to. To date I've only been sent a handful of Coast Guard pictures and nothing of firefighters or police.
It takes thousand of pictures and dozens of movie clips to make these videos.
If I can get enough material, I'll definitely consider it.
6. How come you don't show enough US allies such as Britain and Australia?
Well, I'm a proud American but I haven't overlooked our allies. It all depends on what people send in for me to use.
I think you'd be surprised to know how much Australian and other allied material is in Die Terrorists Die and other videos.
The more I get in the future, the more I'll include.
7. I work with (insert vehicle or plane here), can you show more of these?
I'll put anything and everything in these videos. If you like something in particular, send it in.
I have some great stuff already that I plan to include in future videos but I can always use more good video.
8. Do you plan to add a forum to your website?
GrouchyMedia.com has been mentioned in many other forums that people have created.
Unfortunately I don't have time to moderate one myself and fear the discussions would turn too political for this site.
9. Can I send you some pictures or video tapes for your next video?
Sure, that's how these get made. You can find my mailing address on this page with instructions.
Please note I already have a ton of material waiting to be used so it may be a while before your contribution makes it to a video.
10. Why do you make videos that promote war?
I don't promote war, I promote supporting our troops in whatever they get asked to do.
Sadly, supporting our troops is a concept some people fail to get. You should try it!
11. When will you make one about North Korea, Iran, or other country?
I pay close attention to what goes on around the world but I don't want to "beat the war drums" as they say.
I only made "Bomb Saddam", once war was clearly imminent and I'll probably take the same approach to future conflicts.
12. Can you post a video I made on your website?
Possibly but I can't promise anything. Feel free to send it in and if I think it fits with the other videos on this site
I may put it online for you. I welcome contributions from anyone so fire up some video editing software and give it a try!
13. Do you mind if I link to your website from mine?
That's great, just send me a link to your site so I can check it out.
I always like seeing what other people have to say and the sites they create.
Just don't link directly to the video files, send your visitors to my download pages first.
14. Are you available to do freelance work?
Absolutely! I've done side projects for a major defense contracting company and the Department of Defense as freelance work.
Just reach out to me by mail or email and tell me about your project.
15. How do you chose the songs you use?
"Bodies" by Drowning Pool, was the only song I picked myself.
"Die M.F. Die" by Dope, and "B.O.B." by Outkast, were sent in as suggestions by fans.
I would ask for more song suggestions but I get hundreds of requests for the same songs I was already planning to use.
So basically, if the song rocks, you might find it here in a video one day.
16. Where do you get your material from?
Taliban Bodies was made with material I found by searching the Internet using Google.
It took about two weeks of hunting to find it all.
Everything since then has been made with material people personally sent in for me to use.
17. Can you post the material you used to make your videos?
Some of the more personal stuff people sent to me had the understanding that I only use it for these videos.
Other material may have copyright issues. You can find a large amount of material on the Internet if you have patience.
Try starting with the websites for government defense departments and weapons manufactures.
18. Do you plan to provide QuickTime or DivX formats?
I may make some Quicktime files for the Mac users out there one of these days but the MPEG's and RealMedia formats work well from what I hear.
I also understand Real Media may become the player of choice for Linux soon.
DivX no longer offers an ad-free version of their software so I won't be using it.
19. Where can I find more about the Aerospace Power 2002 video?
The video was produced by the premier production/editing facility for the US Air Force:
367TH Training Support Squadron
Combat Camera USAF
Hill AFB, UT
More info can be found here at the DAVID/DITIS website.
They produce four demos per year, broadcast them live over the web, and offer CD/DVD formats. Check them out!
20. What song is in the (fill in the blank) video and who sings it?
Most of the video pages I set up tell you who made the song and what the title is.
You can also find a full list of artists and song title on this video listing page.
21. What program do you use to make these videos?
I've used Adobe Premiere versions 6.0, 6.5, and now use 7.0. Some of the other videos on this site were made with Windows Movie Maker,
which comes free with Windows XP and is good for beginners. A few were also made using Sony Vegas which I haven't tried but hear is great.
22. Can you help me with a video project I'm doing?
I wish I could say "yes" every time I get asked this. Managing this site is a part time job that I don't get paid for and I just don't have the time for more projects.
23. Do you have that video to the (fill in the blank) song?
A lot of people ask if I have "that Toby Keith video" or other specific thing out there on the internet. In the case of the Toby Keith video,
I have seen it and even asked his record company for permission to post it but they won't let me. There's actually several videos I have to his music
and some other artists I won't name but I simply can't put them online.
Please don't ask me to email them either as I could get in trouble that way too.
24. Do you plan to make more videos in the future?
Right now I'm trying to post some of the great videos people have sent in but I'll be sure to make more
of my own when I find the free time.
That's pretty much true for anything else you might be curious about. I either can't post it or I haven't seen it.
You can be sure if I had a good video that I was allowed to use I would get online for you.
